| A multi-millionaire in his mid-forties, Vlad Masters presents himself to the world as a sophisticated, if somewhat eccentric, man of business. He harbors a much darker secret, however. Twenty years ago, while researching the paranormal with his college friends Jack and Maddie, Vlad was exposed to the powerful ectoplasmic forces of a portal being ripped open from this world to a realm known as the Ghost Zone. He endured years with a painful case of ecto acne, and emerged with the skills and powers of a full fledged ghost. Now, come hell or high water, he's come to claim what is rightfully his. |

Vlad never speaks of his family and he may very well not have any surviving family members. There are, however, brief hints of a sister named Melissa, long deceased. Vlad was very close to his older sister while growing up, but her life was cut tragically short in an accident in the family orchard. |

Kwan Long: A former intern now living with Vlad in the Renaissance hotel and Daniel's boyfriend. The two have bonded, but the exact nature of that bond has yet to be explored. An alternate future saw the two of them as lovers, but during the present Vlad feels an odd paternal affection towards the boy. Daniel Fenton: The only other human/ghost hybrid in existence and Maddie's son. Vlad seeks to convince the boy to join him and accept him as his father. This goal is complicated, however, by a growing awareness of his own truer intentions. Jack and Maddie Fenton: Former best friend and college crush until the accident with the ghost portal. Over the years, Vlad has come to hate Jack and blame him for the accident and for taking Maddie away from him. That decades long obsession with winning Maddie over, however, has recently become muddled. His hatred towards Jack remains undiminished. Lyonell Lancer: A chance meeting at the Victor/Victoria has lead to more complications than Vlad cares to think about. He's skeptical about Lancer's claimed skills at witchcraft, thinking the magical arts to be rather archaic in a time of technology. Their brief liaisons have yet to be resolved. Dan Phantom: An abomination born of an alternate timeline. Vlad still perceives him as a threat to Daniel, but in the aftermath of Faux's first attack, he's become terribly aware of the small child that lurks within. |
